What is The Amerashield™ Surface & Textile Protection System?

Our system consists of a 3 step process. Preclean with Amerashield 485 or Mold & Mildew Cleaner. When your surface is clean and dry spray-on antimicrobial protection for porous, and non-porous surfaces. The Amerashield™ System gives substrates an added level of protection against damaging microbes such as, bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration.

How does The Amerashield™ Surface & Textile Protection System work?

The active ingredient in the product forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer, which chemically bonds to the treated surface. You could think of it as a layer of electrically charged swords. When a microorganism comes in contact with the treated surface, the quaternary amine sword punctures the cell membrane and the electrical charge shocks the cell. Since nothing is transferred to the now dead cell, the antimicrobial doesn’t lose strength and the sword is ready for the next cell to contact it. Note that in order for the antimicrobials to continue their effectiveness, normal cleaning of treated surfaces is necessary. Dirt buildup, paint, dead microbes, etc. will cover the treatment prohibiting it from killing microorganisms.

How do I know that this system is safe?

All of the cleaning and antimicrobial product used in the Amerashield System are water based. BioShield75 has undergone extensive independent laboratory testing and has a long history of safe use. It is registered with the EPA for all applications in which it is used.

Does this mean I don’t have to clean my surfaces as much or as carefully?

No. The Amerashield™ System provides continuous antimicrobial protection that protects the surfaces in your home, helping to make them easier to clean and keeping them cleaner between cleanings. However, normal cleaning practices should be maintained.

Does The Amerashield™ System begin working immediately?

It begins to work as soon as the microorganism comes into contact with the protected surface. The system then works continuously to maintain a consistently lower bio-burden than would be expected on a surface without The Amerashield™ System. Under the right conditions, microbes on an untreated surface can double every 20 minutes! Our technology is not a disinfectant and is not a substitute for normal cleaning practices.

How long does The Amerashield™ Protection System last?

The Amerashield™ Protection System is engineered to provide continuous antimicrobial product protection for ninety (90) days or greater, keeping the products in your home cleaner and fresher for longer than ever before. The antimicrobial surface protection will not wash off when using our Amerashield products.

Has anyone ever gotten sick from using products included in The Amerashield™ Protection System?

Extensive testing and a long use history of the products used in the Amerashield™ System have shown to be safe. While it is impossible to say that no one will ever experience an allergic reaction to anything, it is highly unlikely a negative experience would be observed.

Does the use of antimicrobials cause resistant strains of microorganisms?

No. since this is a mechanical action there is no opportunity for cell adaptation or mutation.
